After running for 13 years on our screens, ETV announced on Friday that the award-winning soapie, Rhythm City, is stopping in 2021.

The show will end on 16 July 2021.

Managing Director at e.tv, Marlon Davids said, “e.tv continues to look forward to fulfilling its mandate of producing exceptional and relevant local content, and the production has successfully achieved its part of the obligation throughout the past 13 years.”

He says that Rhythm City made history in their book.

“Rhythm City has secured its place in e.tv’s history books, and a legacy mark has been made. We want to extend our gratitude to the entire production staff, crew, and cast for their incomparable craft,” he added.

Over the few years, the show was ranked as one of the top 10 most-watched soapies in the country and peaked at 5.2 million viewers.

Rhythm City will be replaced by another local daily drama.
