· South Africa scored five second-half tries to seal the win and keep the Freedom Cup in their hands.
· The 33-point defeat was New Zealand’s biggest losing margin in their entire rugby history.
South Africa shocked the rugby world by humiliating New Zealand with a 43-10 victory in Wellington on Saturday.
The Springboks not only kept hold of the Freedom Cup, but also achieved their highest ever score against the All Blacks in New Zealand.
It was a turnaround from the previous week when the Boks were crushed at Eden Park. This time, they came out fighting from the first whistle.
According to the Independent, the win also gave New Zealand their biggest defeat in rugby history. The 33-point margin is one the All Blacks will want to forget.
At half time, South Africa were only three points ahead. But in the second half, the Boks tore the game open.
Cheslin Kolbe, Damian Willemse, Kwagga Smith, RG Snyman and Andre Esterhuizen all crossed the line as South Africa ran riot.
The Springboks’ forwards dominated and their backs finished with style. The All Blacks had no answer to the power and speed on display.
For South Africa, this win was more than just numbers on the board. It was about pride, redemption and making history on their rival’s home turf.
