Blxckie, new kid reshaping Mzansi’s hip hop scene, is no longer new.
To celebrate a year since his smash debut album B4NOW was released, the rapper has dropped a new hip-hop jewel: “Khuphuka”, meaning “go all the way up”.
Released on Thursday, “Khuphuka”, which has a tribal sounding ad lib, has managed to reach over 40,000 people in just four days. And it’s sitting at number 13 on YouTube’s Trending Music Chart.
B4NOW saw Blxckie becoming one of the most idolised rappers in the country, with a versatile flow that allows the rapper to sing and rap on his songs with the same tone.
“Africori awarded Blxckie with 10 plaques for achieving Gold, Platinum and Double Platinum on hit songs from the album B4Now/B4Now Deluxe, his EP 4Luv and bonus songs released in the period of a year,” wrote Africori in a statement congratulating the rapper, whose real name is Sihle Sithole.
Blxckie had quickly released a 20-track long extended deluxe edition of his debut album B4NOW, three months after the original album was released with 12 songs.
