Bloemfontein Celtic could be slapped with a points deduction due to a R3 million contract dispute with former goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper had his contract terminated in 2019 but Tignyemb felt he was dismissed unfairly.
He went to FIFA with his claim and demanded that Celtic be punished for not providing the goalkeeper with compensation for ending his contract.
FIFA has already punished Celtic as they were given a one-year transfer ban because of the contract dispute and they were ordered to pay Tignyemb R3 million compensation which they have so far failed to do.
A further punishment could see the club deducted a total of 10 points in the DStv Premiership.
Activity Chambers, the legal firm which represents Tignyemb, provided a document stating that their client had not been paid.
“We wish to inform you that the debtor has blatantly disregarded the FIFA decision and not paid a dime of the judgment,” the document said.
If Celtic were to lose the points, they would fall to last place in the league. With only four games remaining, this would prove extremely costly for the club as they would likely find themselves relegated to the second division of South African football.
