Black Coffee rocks up for Ramaphosa’s Sona

Videos of DJ Black Coffee attending President Cyril Ramaphosa’s speech went viral on social media when the artist was seen in public for the first time since he was injured in a plane crash early last month.

The artist and producer, known globally for his electrifying music and Grammy-winning talent, attended the State of the Nation Address at Cape Town City Hall on Thursday, accompanied by his son, Anesu, whom he co-parents with actress Enhle Mbali.

He is still wearing a neck brace because of the injuries he suffered

The music industry and fans came together with prayers and messages of support for Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, following the news of his accident, which happened while he was on his way from Brazil to a performance in Mar del Plata, Argentina.

A statement from his team said that, before his discharge from hospital, he had been under excellent medical care, surrounded by his loved ones.

As Black Coffee navigates through his recovery, a call has been extended to the media and his fans to be patient and respect his privacy.
