The opening weekend of Betway SA20 action brought all the vibes as houseful crowds witnessed runs galore at stadia across the country.

The washed out opener in Gqeberha was followed by a rain shortened Durban Super Giants win against MI Cape Town at Kingsmead on Thursday.

Heinrich Klaasen was the star of the show, hitting 85 off 35 balls to see Durban home by 11 runs on the DLS method.

The Keshav Maharaj led Kwa Zulu Natal side went on to make it two wins from two games as they beat Sunrisers Eastern Cape by 35 runs away from home.

The Paarl Rocks are the only other team to begin the competition with two straight wins as they defeated the Pretoria Capitals both home and away within three days.

Lungi Ngidi’s 4/39 was enough to prevent the Capitals from chasing down 214 on Sunday, while on Friday the runs were even more difficult to come by as the Rocks won by 27 runs.

The biggest victory yet took place at the Bull Ring, with MI Cape Town setting a target of 244 for the Jozi Super Kings.

In response, the Super Kings could only manage 145 before being bowled out by a resilient Cape Town attack.

On Monday, the Durban Super Giants travel to the Wanderers to face the Jozi Super Kings. That one begins at 17:30 live on SuperSport.
