  • Big Brother Season 5 winner Sweet Guluva will MC the Durban Music Fest with Rick Ross and top local stars.
  • Every ticket holder stands a chance to win a brand-new Kia, with the winner revealed on stage.

Sweet Guluva is swapping the Big Brother house for the big stage as he gears up to host the Durban Music Fest at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 3 May.

The fan-favourite, who won Season 5 of Big Brother, will serve as the master of ceremonies at the massive event, sharing the spotlight with big names like US rapper Rick Ross, Khuzani, DJ Sox, Sjava and Mawhoo.

The event is organised by Blue Screens Entertainment, who are thrilled to have Guluva on board.

“He’s a man in demand, and when the opportunity arose to have him on board, we couldn’t resist,” said the organisers.

And the excitement doesn’t end there. The organisers announced that half of the tickets are already sold and teased a huge giveaway. Every ticket holder will be entered into a draw to win a brand-new car, sponsored by Kia. Rick Ross will announce the lucky winner live on stage.

In the build-up to the main event, Blue Screens hosted a rap battle at Rockets in Umhlanga. Out of 50 contestants and nearly 2,000 entries, Xavier Thomas came out on top.

His strong performance and determination earned him a music deal covering distribution, publishing and management. He also scored a cameo in Rick Ross’s upcoming music video, which will be filmed in Africa.

Xavier will also get to perform at the Durban Music Fest — a major break for the rising rapper.
