On a goal-filled return to domestic football, Premier League Saturday delivered an array of draws with Brentford scoring late on to rescue a point at home against Manchester United.
The day’s action begun with a 4-3 thriller at St James’s Park that saw Newcastle United beat West Ham courtesy of braces from Harvey Barnes and Aleksander Isak.
The Magpies were two down after 77 minutes but managed to comeback and win in the dying embers. In doing so, they became the latest side to turn around such a deficit in over a decade.
In the evening’s action Bournemouth beat Everton 2-1, Aston Villa defeated Wolves 2-0 and Son Heung Min grabbed a late winner in a 2-1 Spurs win over Luton Town.
There was nothing to separate Sheffield United and Fulham who drew 3-3 while Chelsea and Burnley finished 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
Cole Palmer netted both the Blues’ goals, making him just the fifth player to reach 20 goal involvements in his first Premier League season with Chelsea.
The late game saw both goals come in second half stoppage time, with Mason Mount firing Manchester United ahead in the 96th minute before Ivan Toney set up Kristoffer Ajer for the equaliser on 99 minutes.
On Sunday, Liverpool kick off proceedings when they host Brighton before a title-race defining clash between Manchester City and Arsenal brings the weekend to a close.
