A young Mexican fan has won the hearts of the Bafana Bafana squad at the Fifa World Cup in Mexico.

The boy waited by the team bus as the South African players prepared to leave their hotel. The squad was heading to a training session at Pachuca Stadium. The young boy only wanted to see his football heroes.

Head coach Hugo Broos went over to the child and gave him a green alternate Bafana Bafana jersey.

The boy put on the shirt and the entire 26-man squad stopped for him. Every player signed autographs and posed for selfies with the excited young fan.

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau brought a proper South African touch to the meeting. Mudau taught the boy a South African handshake and finished the moment with a warm “Shap”.

Bafana Bafana will play Jamaica in their final warm-up match on Friday evening. The players will then head to the Estadio Azteca next Thursday, 11 June.
