eBay took down a listing of US rapper Latto’s underwear when the bidding reached R1.7-million.
She listed the used pair of knickers on the popular reselling website after Twitter called out the “Big Energy” hitmaker for wearing the same cheetah print panties on two separate occasions.
A Twitter user posted the images of the two occasions Latto decided to don the cheetah print panties, writing: “Can’t afford new panties?”
To which Latto replied: “Oh, no! It’s the panty police.”
Following her clapback on Twitter, she put up the panties for sale on eBay, sparking a mass bidding war.
“Latto’s everyday cheetah print panties,” the description read. “Used. As seen on Latto multiple times.”
Bids reached $100,000 (R1.7 million) before eBay removed the listing, explaining that it went against their policies.
An eBay spokesperson explained that the listing violated the company’s “health and hygiene standards,” Business Insider reported.
“Listings that include used underwear are prohibited under our used clothing policy,” a spokesperson said.
The Atlanta rapper has over nine million followers on Instagram and is yet to comment on the removal of her listing.
It is unconfirmed whether or not Latto will wear the cheetah print panties again — but if she does she might want to pull her pants up a bit higher.
