Anele Mdoda is back in the country.
The radio presenter, who has just signed a rare five-year contract with Primedia, the owners of 947 radio station, announced last month that she will be taking a two-month break off air from the Anele and The Club breakfast show.
The 37-year-old who got to hang around with comedian Trevor Noah at the Daily Show studios during her time in New York City said she will be attending “Future-Fit” master classes around the world.
On Saturday night, Mdoda was the MC at the exclusive Heineken All Invitational soccer game which featured retired soccer stars like Teko Modise and Benni McCarthy.
“It’s about to go down – #HeinekenAllinvitational. The legends are in the house,” tweeted Anele before the kick-off in Johannesburg.
As the game aimed to include everyone in the sport, both teams had both male and female players, with the captains being women international stars. Rosella Ayane who plays for Morocco and the Tottenham Hotspurs in England captained Team Ayane, while retired American soccer legend Kristine Lilly captained Team Lilly, the winners of the five-a-side match.
Mdoda, who kept the energies high at the indoor sport centre, is expected to return to her original slot at 947 at the beginning of July this year.
