Andile Mpisane is back on the field – this time in Eswatini.
The 24-year-old made his debut for Mbabane Highlanders on Saturday in their 2-0 victory over Manzini Sea Birds. The win was the team’s first of the new season.
Mpisane wore the number 10 jersey, the same number he used during his time at Royal AM, and played in midfield where he showed a few neat touches during the game.
Before joining Highlanders, Mpisane had featured nine times for Royal AM this season before the team was kicked out of the Premier Soccer League.
Highlanders is now owned by Mpisane’s mother, businesswoman and reality TV star Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize, who took over the club in July from former chairman Bheki “Rubber” Simelane.
Her move to Eswatini football followed Royal AM’s expulsion from South Africa’s top flight after ongoing disputes with the league.
