AmaZulu are looking to inflict more pain on Orlando Pirates who are still licking their wounds after being humiliated by Raja Casablanca.
Raja beat the Bucs 4-0 to win 5-1 on aggregate, firmly booting them out of the CAF Confederation Cup.
On Thursday Pirates host Usuthu in the DStv Premiership at Orlando Stadium in Soweto at 5pm.
Usuthu lost their last match at home against Baroka FC which saw them dropping out of the league title race and leaving Mamelodi Sundowns favourites to win the title.
AmaZulu forward, Lehlohonolo Majoro said they have to pick themselves up after the Baroka loss.
“We need to make sure we get the three points. And we need to get those points against Pirates who are now running the same race as us,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bucs coach Josef Zinnbauer can’t afford to lose this one with club supporters calling for his blood.
A poster of a planned protest march on 5 June has been doing the rounds on various social media platforms as well the trending #JZOut hashtag.
“You have some supporters who are upset after the games we lost,” said Zinnbauer at the Carling Black Label launch on Tuesday.
He pointed out that they had won a title this season and they were in the CAF quarter-finals.
“Yes, you can find all the negatives, but we see the other side,” he said.
The Pirates protest follows after Kaizer Chiefs supporters took their grievances to Naturena voicing their disappointment at Gavin Hunt and the club’s poor performance especially in the Premiership.
