The All Blacks arrive in South Africa this week, but fans have been slow to buy tickets for their four provincial matches.
New Zealand face the Stormers at Cape Town Stadium on Friday before playing the Sharks, Bulls and Lions.
Rapport reported that ticket sales for the four matches have ranged from modest to poor.
“‘Sold out’ signs won’t be going up anytime soon,” an SA Rugby spokesperson told the newspaper.
“We hope things pick up, but it has been a struggle so far.”
Tickets for the Stormers match cost between R650 and R1,350.
The All Blacks then face the Sharks in Durban on 11 August and the Bulls in Pretoria on 15 August.
Their final provincial match is against the Lions at Ellis Park on 25 August.
Ticket demand for the four Springbok Tests has been much stronger. The first two Tests at Ellis Park and Cape Town Stadium are believed to be sold out.
Tickets remain available for the third Test at FNB Stadium, with prices ranging from R1,650 to R4,000.
A limited number of tickets are also available for the final Test at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, United States.
