South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, professionally known as AKA, is set to release his highly anticipated album in February.
To keep his fans pumped for the soon-to-be-released fifth studio album, Mass Country, the 34-year-old rapper released a track off the project titled “Prada” featuring fellow South African rapper Khuli Chana.
The track, which has been receiving rave reviews on social media, was Apple Music Track of The Week, as announced by the rapper on his Instagram page.
“This week’s @applemusic Track Of The Week. Stream P R A D A & Pre-Add #MassCountry is now on Apple Music coming soon!!! 27/02/2023,” he wrote.
Before he released his collaborative track with usual suspect Khuli Chana, the multiple award-winning Cape Town-born rapper joined forces with another revered South African rapper, Nasty, on a track titled “Lemon (Lemonade)” in 2022.
Produced by the same team that worked on his track with Nasty C — Christer, Zadok and Deezus, AKA revealed that he, together with Zadok, Nivo and Tshiamo Letshwene, were the executive producers of the album.
Ahead of the release of his album, AKA has been seen in the studio with other South African artists including Emtee, Yanga Chief, Manana and Blxckie.
The rapper, who lost his fiance Anele “Nelli” Tembe in April last year under controversial circumstances, seems to have bounced back. He’s been seen posting photos of himself and his new girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, on vacation in the US.
His last album, titled Touch My Blood, was released in 2018. The 16-track project featured JR, Okmalumkoolkat, L-Tido, Kwesta, Kiddominant, Yanga Chief, and Stogie T.
