Mafikeng’s very own Cassper Nyovest is preparing to cook up a storm as the new host of The Braai Show With Cass, after it emerged that the show’s previous host was not alerted to the change.

The popular show was previously hosted by Kiernan Forbes, known professionally as AKA for its first season, which aired on SABC 1.

When Nyovest came in, he added his own name to the show’s title, which was previously just called The Braai Show when AKA was still its host.

AKA’s legal team, law firm Tailormade Legal Solutions, responded in a statement to the confirmation that Nyovest is replacing him.

“Although not surprised by the opportunism, Mr. Forbes does not regret the integrity and legal foresight by those who have sought to proceed with this incompetently sanctioned plan,” said the law firm on Monday, after Nyovest had made the news official on social media.

Phil Mphela of The Entertainment Alert revealed that AKA, who is also the executive producer of the show and owns 50% of it, was not alerted about the change of host.

AKA’s PR team went on to say “The matter has been with Mr. Forbes’ (AKA) legal team while a resolution to the impasse was being negotiated and will now be solely placed in their control to expedite legal intervention”.

The show is expected to air Season 2 on SABC 1 at 7pm every Wednesday from 8 September 2021.
