Click Media CEO and media personality Christian Kazadi has passed away while visiting his home nation Congo DRC on Tuesday.

Kazadi, who is the brother of Scandal actor Joe Kazadi, was reportedly shot by Congolese police while visiting the country after attending a Forbes 30 Under 30 summit in Botswana.

“Blessed To Be Part Of The [Forbes 30 Under 30 summit] in Botswana representing South Africa & Congo DRC,” Kazadi wrote on social media shortly before arriving in the country.

“The Kazadi Family is saddened by the tragic and brutal Loss of Christian Kazadi, We ask for patience and prayer from everyone at this moment in time,” said his family on Wednesday morning as they confirmed the news of his passing.

Soon after the announcement, condolences started flooding in, including a letter from his brother Joe who shared on Instagram how proud he was of his little brother:

My blood first of all as your Big bro I am so proud of you Kazadi wa mawu, you did the impossible in a country that is not our own.

From the south where we saw some of the hardest struggles as foreign kids, you raised up like it was home.

Kazadi what will be my career without you my bro!

Few days ago we were supposed to go out for a drink and plan our new venture and when I couldn’t make it, wow you were so disappointed but now I understand, Chris

Now I am at the back of a car crying on my way to go comfort Mom

I am so sorry my G. I am sorry that our own killed you at home where you [were] supposed to be safe.

I am sorry that we weren’t there to protect you, I love you so much my G.
