Mpho Sebeng’s friend and fellow actor Zola Hashatsi announced his passing on social media on Sunday.
“No, I’m not okay,” said Hashatsi.
“It is with a sad, painful heart that I announce the passing of a young brother, a friend that I took in to replace us when we exited Craze TV, a thespian that was Mpho Sebeng. This one hurts. His star was only beginning to shine. What a loss, he was only 30 years young.”
Sebeng was reportedly involved in a car crash near Klerksdorp in the North West on Sunday morning.
Hashatsi said he would share more information in due course.
Sebeng featured in South African productions like Soul Buddies, Zibondiwe, Scandal, The Throne, Ring of Lies, Savage Beauty. Most recently he played the role of a student leader in the Netflix series Miseducation.
Tributes soon appeared for the talented actor after the news his tragic passing.
Many of his fans praised him for the excellent portrayal of the character Neo in Ring of Lies.
Mpho really entertained us and delivered well on his Neo character on Ring of Lies, that was when he won me over as a fan.
