Durban rapper Blxckie has done more this week than most people get done in a year.
The hip-hop rising star grabbed the number one spot on MTV’s Hottest MC list for 2021 on Thursday, hit a Youtube landmark and celebrated his birthday – all whilst on national tour of his debut album, B4NOW.
In a year disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and a subsequent national lockdown, the acclaimed rapper has provided fans with a consistent stream of high-quality music.
It was a week to remember for Blxckie, whose real name is Sihle Sithole from Sydenham Heights, who announced over the weekend that he has reached over 100,000 subscribers on his YouTube account.
To top it off, the rapper continued on his Mzansi tour, stopping in Pretoria last weekend after performing a sold out show in Durban last month.
“Finally got to celebrate my birthday properly izolo (yesterday). Thank you to everyone,” wrote Blxckie, sharing a highlights video of his 22nd birthday celebration. The party was held at the Sumo Night Club in Johannesburg on Tuesday night, five months after his actual birth date, which is on 5 June.
