Scotland has become the world’s first country to provide free period products such as tampons.
The Period Products Act will make local authorities give free period products to anyone who needs them.
It follows a long campaign and some councils have already been providing free tampons and sanitary towels in public buildings since 2018.
“This will make a massive difference to the lives of women and girls when they menstruate,” said Monica Lennon, a spokeswoman for the Scottish Labour Party.
