PICK OF THE SPORT: Following a four-week break, Formula 1 returns in what could be the final Grand Prix at the iconic Spa Circuit in Belgium.
➤ Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali revealed that the Belgian Grand Prix is not confirmed to be returning for the 2024 calendar year just yet, making this weekend’s race its finale – for now.
Home to many historic moments in the years of Formula 1, the Spa Grand Prix has it all high speed straights, tight corners and plenty of room to overtake.
It would be only fitting to give the Grand Prix the send off it deserves with non-stop action during Sunday’s race.
All teams should be refreshed after enjoying some time in the sun throughout August with the second-half of the season now ready to begin.
Max Verstappen and Red Bull will feel confident they can once again finish ahead of the pack but a summer break often springs a few surprises.
The Belgian Grand Prix could be the place for teams to reveal any changes they have made during the summer break, or it could be more of the same and fans will once again watch Red Bull dominate.
All will be revealed when lights out at potentially the final Belgian Grand Prix at 3pm on Sunday afternoon, live on DStv channel 215.
➤ Rugby lovers are in for a spectacular weekend as the Springboks and the Blitzboks are back in action.
The 15-man side face Australia in the first of their two Rugby Championship matches. Both teams come off defeats (the Boks against New Zealand and the Wallabies against Argentina) and both teams need the win. The match is at 7.30am on Saturday.
Neil Powell’s Sevens side are back in action after their gold medal performance at the
Commonwealth Games. The Los Angeles tournament is the last before the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town next month. The Blitzbokke play the USA on Saturday at 6.20pm and Canada at 9.26pm.
All the rugby action is set to be televised live on DStv channel 201.
➤ The Proteas will want to seal the test series with a win over England this weekend in Manchester.
With the action starting on Thursday, South Africa will hope momentum carries them through after thumping England by over an innings last time out.
A win for England will however allow for a more dramatic winner take all finale next weekend.
The action begins each day at 12pm live on DStv channel 201 and 212.
