Serial winning Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has remembered how his mom taught him to focus on the job at hand and leave others to judge.
The former Bafana Bafana mentor was paying tribute after being honoured with the Best Coach Award from the Egyptian Sports Critics Association at their annual media awards ceremony on Saturday.
This prestigious award is voted for by the media.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Mosimane said: “The second personal award in 7 months. Thank you Al Ahly (players, technical, staff, our supporters and President Khatib and his board members, my Family).
“My Mother, from Khoza’s clan, taught me that, ‘Mintirho Ya Vulavula’ and leave the rest to others to do the talking.”
The Xitsonga proverb “Mintirho ya vulavula” means “Deeds speak”.
Since arriving in the north African country in September last year, Mosimane has won three cups with Al Ahly. Those are the Egyptian Premier Cup, Egyptian Cup and the prestigious CAF Champions League.
Before taking on the toughest job in the continent, Mosimane had the most sought-after PSL Chairman Award bestowed on him after he led his former side Mamelodi Sundowns to a treble win.
