TS Galaxy coach Saed Ramovic and his Mamelodi Sundowns counterpart Rhulani Mokwena continue to exchange words, with few signs suggesting their rivalry will end anytime soon.
Their latest spat was sparked by Mokwena alleging that Ramovic instructed his players to injure Bongani Zungu during Monday’s Premier Soccer League match which ended 3-0 to the Brazilians.
The alleged instruction by the German was said to be in retaliation to Zungu breaking Bernard Parker’s leg in October 2023.
But TS Galaxy dismissed the claims by the Masandawana coach while demanding an apology and threatening to take legal action.
Now, Ramovic has also waded in, accusing Mokwena of stooping “very low” to blatantly lie while also questioning if the Sundowns trainer is a good human being.
“If a person lies what will happen? Imagine our player [Orebotse Mongae] already got threatened by some supporters,” Ramovic told the media after Friday’s 0-0 league draw with Sekhukhune United.
“Imagine that. You cannot talk like this as a coach. I think it’s very low but our ‘Mr Sunshine’ has to know what he is doing. You will see that this is a made-up story and it’s not nice.”
“This is what we don’t like because again, in my view, the most important thing is to be a very nice human being.”
Mokwena has also previously thrown jabs at Ramovic but despite the bad blood between the two, the TS Galaxy coach took time to congratulate Sundows for winning the 2023/24 PSL title.
They sealed a seventh consecutive league crown on Thursday after beating Kaizer Chiefs 5-1 at FNB Stadium.
“I have to of course congratulate the team [Sundowns],” said Ramovic.
“It’s a beautiful club, they have unbelievable and great supporters. Because when you talk again it’s just an issue between one person and me.”
“It has nothing to do with the club and its supporters or anything. When you talk about what they have achieved, the players and the club it’s just unbelievable.”
“A lot of respect for the club. It is one of the best if not the best teams in Africa.”
Sundowns now prepare to face Stellenbosch in Sunday’s Nedbank Cup semi-final match, fresh from clinching the PSL title.
