A video showing Babes Wodumo reportedly assaulting a costume designer has gone viral on social media.
The designer told gossip blogger Maphepha Ndaba the problem began on 28 February.
That’s when “Wololo” hitmaker Babes Wodumo and two others visited her store to pick out costumes for the IFP manifesto launch in Hammarsdale.
“They initially wanted them for free. They did not have enough money as they only had R150 left. There were two of them so that amount wasn’t enough,” said the designer.
The designer also claims that the group kept using the items they borrowed without giving them back or paying for their use.
When The Citizen tried to get a comment from Babes Wodumo, she replied: “You’ll find all your answers on my live Instagram and Facebook in an hour.”
There have been many social media reactions to the video online.
“She’s losing her way. Instead of making money after being away, she comes back and keeps fighting,” said one X (formerly Twitter) user.
“Will she ever get a break?” asked another.
