Hugo Broos, the head coach of Bafana Bafana, has returned to South Africa from Belgium and has addressed rumours about his potential departure.
Broos clarified that there have been no offers from other countries and emphasised his commitment to his current role as coach of South Africa’s national football team.
“If Hugo Broos is leaving South Africa, then it will be because the Federation decides I will leave. That’s all, I’m happy with my job, I’m happy with the team,” he said.
During the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) held in February in Ivory Coast, South Africa secured the third spot and also received the Fair Play Award.
This week, Broos plans to meet with his technical team to pick players for the March international friendlies against Andorra and Tunisia.
He has hinted at the possibility of introducing new players to the lineup as part of the preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers where South Africa will face Nigeria and Zimbabwe in June.
