Manchester City came back from a goal down to beat Manchester United 3-1 at the Etihad on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford silenced the home fans with a majestic strike to put the visitors into the lead after just eight minutes.

His goal saw him continue his stellar form of five league goals against the Citizens, with only Wayne Rooney (8) and Eric Cantona (7) scoring more times for United against them in the competition.

There would be a positive record in store for the hosts though, as City came back from behind to beat their rivals for the very first time in 29 league games in which they had conceded first.

Foden levelled and put Pep Guardiola’s side in front after half time before star man Erling Haaland made it 3-1 in stoppage time to put the icing on the cake.

The Red Devils’ 11th league defeat of the season now leaves them 11 points off a top four place with 11 league games remaining this season.

In the title race, City closed their gap on leaders Liverpool to just one point. The sides will meet in a colossal clash on Sunday 10 March at 17:45.
