Saturday’s Premier League action was highlighted by the return of a very special Belgian, whose prowess helped the champions come back from behind against Newcastle.

Kevin de Bruyne’s sleek finish after missing the first half of the campaign due to injury kick started a late comeback.

The goal was Manchester City’s 100th against Newcastle in the Premier League, making them the first side that the citizens have netted a century against in the competition.

Bernardo Silva got the opener for the visitors before the Magpies netted twice in quick succession to go 2-1 up at halftime.

De Bruyne’s introduction in the final 20 minutes saw him score and then provide an assist for 20-year-old Oscar Bobb to help City to their sixth straight win in all competitions.

In the earlier action, Cole Palmer was the difference maker on London derby day to ensure Chelsea picked up three points over Fulham.

The Englishman now has nine goals in 17 Premier League games since joining Chelsea with his goal sending the Blues up into eighth place on the table.

On Friday, Burnley and Luton played out a 1-1 draw, with goals from Zeki Amdouni and Carlton Morris.

Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the game of the weekend on Sunday night after Everton host Aston Villa in the afternoon action.
