The Gujarat Titans picked up yet another Indian Premier League victory, with Kolkata Knight Riders the latest victims of a master run-chase by Hardik Pandya and company.
Sunday’s IPL action featured a double header of games that provided their fair share of entertainment value, with the defending champions coming out on top yet again while Sunrisers Hyderabad got one back at Delhi with a win in the capital.
After some rain at Eden Gardens, the day game got underway with Kolkata getting to 179/7 courtesy of a superb 81 off 39 by opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
In response, a seven wicket win awaited the Titans — as Vijay Shankar (51) and Shubman Gill (49) chased down the runs with 13 balls to spare.
A nail-biting chase awaited in Delhi with the Sunrisers putting 197/6 on the board in the first innings. The total made for a high scoring game, a stark contrast to the 147 defended by the Capitals when the teams met in Hyderabad five days prior.
Mitchell Marsh took 4/27 with the ball and almost took Delhi home with the bat as well, putting up a phenomenal 63 off 39 balls to claim the man of the match award.
His performance would not be enough for the two points though, with the Capitals missing out by nine runs in the end.
On Sunday two more games await with MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings hosting the Punjab Kings before Rajasthan Royals make a trip to Bollywood to take on the Mumbai Indians.
