Liverpool knock the lights out of Molineux!

From an early power cut to a cracking goal from Harvey Elliott, the replay between Wolves and Liverpool certainly delivered the magic and mishaps that the FA Cup is known for.

Jurgen Klopp’s men stepped up the gears to put on a show more fitting of the FA Cup holders that they are, even when at first it did not look that way.

Adama Traore looked to be on the break just three minutes in, before a sight more suited to South Africa was witnessed by those in attendance in the West Midlands of England.

Just as the winger bombed down the wing, the lights went out throughout the ground; and play was halted.

Once it got back underway, the Reds were the more creative and in the 13th minute Elliott delivered a moment of brilliance.

The 19-year-old carried the ball from inside his own half towards the goal and struck a dipping strike past Jose Sa between the Wolves posts. It was a goal worthy of winning any game.

And the match winner it was, with Wolves failing to register more than a solitary attempt on goal and Liverpool dictating the play long into the second period.

Diego Costa was among the substitutes for Wolves late on as they had some decent chances to force extra time. Matheus Cunha got his head on a cross from Matheus Nunes, but Caoimhin Kelleher held on in the Liverpool goal.

The result was a vital one for the Reds, bouncing back after their weekend thrashing at Brighton who they will once again face as they seek redemption in their fourth round cup tie.
