PICK OF THE SPORT: The Manchester and North London derby clashes in the Premier League are set for this weekend.
There is a lot more at stake than just three points when your city rival comes to town. Bragging rights, friendships and even families are on the line when derby day arrives.
And there are no bigger derbies in the English Premier League than the Manchester and North London derbies.
The weekend will kick off at Old Trafford, which hosts the gigantic clash between Manchester United and Manchester City.
Manchester United are in top form and go into the fixture as favourites to claim all three points.
Manchester City, on the other hand, were knocked out of the Carabao Cup during the mid-week by bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
Manager Pep Guardiola will hope to avoid another loss on Saturday that could give Arsenal more space at the top of the standings.
Both sides need a win, with a draw not helpful for either side chasing the Gunners, who are seven points clear at the top.
The Manchester derby will kick off at 2.30 pm on Saturday and the action will be broadcast live on DStv channel 203.
Arsenal will be watching that game with a close eye as they face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.
Depending on Saturday’s result, Mikel Arteta and his side could find themselves in with a chance of extending their lead.
Arsenal have only lost once all season and they look like the favourites to lift the Premier League trophy in May, a triumph they last achieved in 2004.
The North London derby will end the weekend’s proceedings, with the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium kicking off at 6.30 pm. It will be shown live on DStv channel 203.
