A Thai husband blamed memory loss after accidentally leaving his wife behind during a pee break on Christmas Day.
The couple were on their way to her hometown to spend the New Year there when suddenly they needed to stop for a pee in the middle of the bushes.
But when the wife returned to the car, her husband had already hit the road, leaving her behind.
Boontom Chaimoon, 55, and his wife, Amnuag Chaimoon, 49, embarked on a road trip at 3am Sunday to spend the New Year in her hometown in the Maha Sarakham province, Must Share News reported.
The woman, as a result, had to walk 20 km in the darkness of a forest before arriving at her destination at 5 am in the morning.
The woman is said to have reported the matter to the police, because she didn’t know what happened to her husband.
To make matters worse, the wife could not get hold of her forgetful husband as her mobile phone stayed in the car while she went to urinate in the bushes.
The police called the husband’s number numerous times but it rang unanswered.
At 8 am, the husband finally answered his phone, explaining that he had driven all the way to
Korat province, 160 km away from the police station, Thailand Posts English reported.
Despite his epic act of forgetfulness, Amnuag said they surprisingly did not argue when he
picked her up. Though he might have spent the night in the dog box.
She later revealed that they’ve been married for 27 years and have a 26-year-old son together.
