Donald Trump has buried his ex-wife Ivana Trump on his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey – allegedly to get a tax break!
Ivana Trump died on 14 July after falling down the stairs.
Accompanying Donald Trump’s statement that this had “saddened” him was an appeal for donations to his political campaign.
But what happened next had many people wondering whether the former American president gives new meaning to the word sleazeball.
Trump buried Ivana next to the first hole on his golf course.
The tax code in the state of New Jersey exempts graveyard land for all rates and taxes, so it represented a massive tax break for the golf course.
This was tacky even by Trump’s standards.
The self-proclaimed billionaire is renowned for cheating on his wives, on his taxes and at golf – so this move ticked all the boxes.
The Czech-born Ivana was Trump’s first wife and was married to him between 1977 and 1992. She is the mother of three of his children.
In her divorce papers, Ivana Trump accused Donald Trump of raping her while they were married.
Pictures of the sad-looking grave show a pile of dirt with a small tombstone, surrounded by a barbed wire fence.
“My cat has a nicer grave,” wrote one Twitter user.
Pictures of the grave led some people to suggest that his second wife, Marla Maples, would be buried next to the second hole while his third wife, Melania Trump, would get the third hole.
Humorous writer Molly Jong Fast quipped: “My life may not turn out how I want it to but at least I won’t be buried on my second husband’s golf course.”
