Nadia Nakai, one of Mzansi’s longest serving female rappers, will be entertaining spectators at the prestigious Miss South Africa 2022 finale.
Nakai’s music has failed to rake in big numbers on streaming platforms lately.
“First on the line up we have one of South Africa’s hottest female rappers and TV personality @nadianakai,” revealed Miss SA 2022 on Tuesday, 26 July.
The finale will take place on 13 August at the Sun Arena’s Time Square Casino in Tshwane.
Nakai, who has kept herself in the news with her new and highly publicised relationship with DJ Zinhle’s baby daddy and fellow rapper AKA, released her single titled “Not The Same” featuring the “high school dropout” LucasRaps on Thursday, 21 July.
But the single has only managed to get just over 4,000 views on YouTube, despite being distributed by Warner Music Africa.
Instead her personal life is getting all the attention.
On Sunday, 24 July, the rapper announced she just bought a new home and that got her on top of the trends.
“Picked up my keys for my new house! I’m officially a homeowner!! Praise God!”
And on Monday she also made the trends list, after she told SowetanLive she is ready to have kids with AKA.
“I’ve witnessed how great he is as a father; of course, I’d love to have his babies one day,” said the rapper in the interview.
Meanwhile DJ Zinhle, who had her second-born with another famous musician, DJ Murdah Bongz of the famous duo called Black Motion, is said to be on good terms with Nakai. She split with AKA in 2020.
“I don’t know why people expect us to hate each other,” Nakai said. DJ Zinhle is Kairo’s mother, “and I respect that and our friendship. People just love to see women hating on one another for no apparent reason,” she told SowetanLive.
