Beyonce has announced the long-awaited release of her seventh studio album, her first project since her legendary 2016 LP, Lemonade.
If there is one celebrity who knows how to stir social media to her advantage, Queen Bey takes the crown.
Music superstar Beyonce Knowles created a social media firestorm when she removed her social media profile pictures in early June this year. Her fanbase, known as the Beyhive, rightly speculated that she was gearing up to release new music.
On 15 June, Tidal made the news official by posting the release date and name of Beyonce’s upcoming seventh solo studio album.
“Beyoncé. RENAISSANCE. July 29,” posted the music streaming platform on Twitter.
And that is when Beyonce also confirmed the news via her Instagram bio.
The technique must have worked to her advantage to get people talking about her album. So much so that a few days later, Queen Bey changed all her social media bios to “6. BREAK MY SOUL midnight ET”, announcing the first single from the album on Monday, 20 June.
Meaning the single was released on the first hour of Tuesday, 21 June.
