A celebrity night-out for the launch of a Huawei smartphone turned bloody when presenter and rapper Boity Thulo allegedly tried to do uninvited sangoma “readings” on another media personality, Bujy Bikwa.
An audio clip of the fight, shared by the Citizen newspaper, has led to two criminal cases being opened at the Midrand police station. Bujy spent last weekend in its cells after being arrested after a fight.
In the audio clips now circulating on social media, the two celebrities can be heard arguing.
“He’s like a nobody, every time he shows up anywhere. Why is this guy even around?” Boity can be heard saying, to which Bujy replies: “I can receive that. I can receive that, it’s fine.”
But when Boity continued saying “This is still okay. Let’s see where your career goes,” it sounds like Bujy lost it. He then confronts Boity as the crowd at the Midrand Hotel can be heard screaming “No”.
“You are just a fat f**k baby. Nobody knows who the f**k you are,” Boity is heard saying before Bujy replied “Everybody’s gonna know who the f**K I am, after I f**k Boity up”.
“Can we defuse this?” one of the witnesses can be heard asking.
On Wednesday Bujy, who is charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, appeared in the Midrand Magistrates’ Court. He was released on R2,000 bail on condition he does not try to contact the witnesses or Boity.
After spending days behind prison bars, Bujy also opened a case against Boity.
