Where to get the chicken breasts and potatoes this week

This week Scrolla compared the prices of two staples: chicken breasts and potatoes.

Shoprite is cheapest on chicken breasts, listing them at R49.99 per kilo. Pick n Pay has them for R54.99, while Checkers lists them at R85.99.

For potatoes, both Shoprite and Checkers are offering a 7kg bag at R49.99. Pick n Pay is slightly higher at R52.99.

That makes Shoprite the best stop overall this week, with the lowest price on chicken and a tie for cheapest potatoes.

Prices are from online listings today and may vary by area or promotion. Scrolla will continue to track essential items every Monday, so you know where your rand goes the furthest.
