Actress Buhle Samuels is accused of lying her way into the driver’s seat of a luxury Porsche SUV.
The 35-year-old, known for playing the seductive Matshidiso on the soapie Muvhango, appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court this week to face charges of fraud and forgery.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority, Samuels faked corporate documents and signatures to get the vehicle, which she showed off online as a birthday gift to herself.
The SUV, which grabbed plenty of attention on social media, has since been taken by authorities and is being held as evidence in the case.
Samuels is expected back in court on 16 May.
Aside from Muvhango, she has appeared in Imbewu: The Seed, Kings of Joburg on Netflix, and other local dramas. She’s also a singer, a mother, and a social media influencer with an online image built around glamour, beauty, and success.
Her social media posts, which include luxury outfits and exotic getaways, earned her a deal as a muse for Hendrick’s Gin.
